From San Gimignano, take the highway to Siena, exit Siena Sud and follow the signs to Buonconvento, before Buonconvento turn right to Montalcino.
Montalcino is located on a hill in Val d'Orcia, and it is famous for the production of Brunello wine, Montalcino stands on hill, it is believed to have been inhabited already in Etruscan age. In the highest point of the town, in 1361, was built, the pentagonal fortress. Its territory is covered with vineyards and olive trees. Giovanni Battista are developed around tub, from which flows out hot water.
